5 Tips On How To Choose A Virtual Business Networking Group
5 Questions To Ask Before You Join a Virtual Networking Group
Unless you’ve been living under a rock or purposely living off the grid without access to the internet, there’s a high likelihood you’ve been attending a lot of online business networking.
Q. Does the experience make you laugh, smile, cringe, or get mad?
This is important because that’s what you can hope to expect the next time and the time after that, and the time after that (and so on).
You ideally want a networking experience that’s light, fun, lively, and entertaining, filled with high-quality SuperConnectors and Givers – who make networking something you look forward to each time.

Q. Does the Group, Leadership or Members apply peer pressure to force or shame you into inviting guests to each meeting?
If you absolutely LOVE your business networking group, you will go out of your way to tell everyone about it and will invite everyone you meet to visit. If your experience is less than stellar, you may not feel inclined to do so. Some business networking groups shame members for not inviting guests by maintaining a tally of how many members invited guests and how many didn’t. Does your group do this or some variation of this? If yes, then you must make a change and find a more authentic group that is focussed on supporting you and your business by going out of their way to make introductions and by sharing referrals.

Q. How Many Times Are You Invited to Speak During Each Meeting as part of Introductions?
Has your experience ever been that you typically speak once for about 30-45 seconds in a 2-hour meeting each week when introducing yourself to the group or delivering your ‘commercial’?
If this has been your experience you might be happy to know that this doesn’t have to be your ongoing business networking reality.
At Dynamite Networking Group – we have 3 Rounds of Introductions so you don’t have to stress about packing a ton of information into your 30 seconds which sound like disclaimers read in pharmaceutical or financial services advertising on TV or the radio.

Q. Is Your Business Networking Group Open to Trying New Ideas?
Has your networking group ever tried to mix things up, by moving away slightly from their way of doing things?
Have they turned your requests down because they’ve ‘always done things that way’ being faithful to a legacy way of running meetings?
and so things the networking experience doesn’t become stale and boring

5 Tips To Crush Your Online Networking Game
5 Tips To Help You Crush Virtual Networking
Yes, Virtual Networking is now a thing, and it’s here to stay much like how Online Dating was a thing 10 years ago and continued to become more and more popular with each passing year.
According to a Feb 2020 Study, Pew Research estimates three-in-ten Americans have used a dating site or app at least once in the last year. 12% (40 Million Americans) have married or been in a committed relationship with someone they met through online dating. According to Match.com 1 in 5 relationships (20%) start online.

Yes, Online Dating is here to stay. But, you’re not here to read about online dating are you?
Here are 10 Tips for you to absolutely crush your online game be it at online networking or online dating:
- Photo: Make sure the photo on your Linkedin or Facebook actually looks like you today. People hate being lied to. Please realize that in Business Networking people don’t care what you look like, so long as you don’t mislead people about your looks. Doing so, makes people distrust you and is an immediate Swipe Left effect when it comes to follow-ups. So do yourself a favor and own the way you look – for better or for worse. 🙂
- Be Consistent: Be sure that your information on LinkedIn lines up with all your other social media profiles, be it, Instagram, Facebook, Bumble, Shapr, etc. Its the same thinking when working with your resume. Make sure everything lines up nicely. This helps to maintain trust and confidence in you as a serious & polished professional. Furthermore, it helps you stand out against people who have overlooked the finer details like this.
- Technology is here to Serve you, so start using the most popular platforms to enhance your familiarity with it so you can shine when using them. Some popular Video Call technologies today are Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Whereby (formerly appear.in), Jitsi Meet, Facebook Messenger Video Call and WhatsApp Video Call – to name a few. You’ll be happy to know that most of these are completely free with the exception of Microsoft Teams. Most of them also support Virtual Backgrounds made popular by Zoom.
- Virtual Backgrounds – Take some time to think about what you’d like your virtual background to say about you, what you do, and your personality/individuality. Your virtual background could let people know about your favorite car, place, food, moment, destination, or something about your company, your service, your Value Proposition. Whatever you select, make sure that your selection is tasteful and not too distracting since you want people to focus more on you and less on your background. That said, avoid busy pictures or psychedelic designs that make it hard for people to focus on you and your message.

5. Look Your Best – Clothes – Take some time to think about what your dress style is – Casual, business-casual, business-formal or formal. While what this means may change depending on who you ask, I will attempt to give you an overview
Casual: Tshirt & Jeans
Business Casual – Polo Tshirt & jeans/Khakis
Business-Formal – Long Sleeve Dress Shirt with collar & trousers/pants.
Business – A Suit & Tie
Regardless of what your personal style is, choose the best versions of the items of clothing in that aesthetic expression. The attention to detail will not be missed and people will appreciate you for it.

Business Networking 101
Business Networking is a lot like Dating. It’s about relationship building and showing up as your best self. Just like in dating, you want to make a good first impression, so that there is a strong desire from the other person to have a second date or a second meeting with you.
The following tips should help you get the most out of your next business networking event. These tips apply to ALL kinds of networking events – In-Person, Online via Zoom or Google Meet, or via Apps like Linkedin, Shapr, Bumble Bizz or Facebook.
- Set an Intention Before Networking. Decide what you’d like to achieve and place yourself into that headspace by spending a few minutes thinking of it.
- Positioning. Think about how you’d like to introduce yourself to people at the business networking event. Write a script if it helps to organize your thoughts so that when you say those lines, they achieve Impact with your Audience.
- Strategy: Have a plan. You’re there to meet some interesting people with the hopes that they can refer you customers or may think of partnering with you if your Goals align with theirs.
- Listen: Be sure to ask questions about what they do and how you can help them and pay close attention to what they say. This tells them that you are interested in them, which is likely to make them interested in you.
- Elevator Pitch: Prepare your elevator pitch which clearly talks about what you do, how you’re different, why customers or clients like working with you, who your ideal client is (Your Ask), and what you are offering (Your Give). Write this out and then say it in your own words so it doesn’t sound scripted when you say it and it comes across as more authentic and genuine. This also makes you look more polished and professional, which will help people to take you seriously, while also helping you stand apart from the crowd.

Life Hacks: How To Convert an Old Laptop or Desktop into an External Monitor for FREE
Productivity Hacks: How To Convert an Old Laptop or Desktop as an External Monitor

If you’ve been using computers for a while, then you may realize that as you upgrade to the next big thing or the next technological innovation at the time, you might be left with some old hardware.
You may choose to sell it, donate it, or give it away to someone who could put it to good use. These are all great and worthy strategies to employ, but, there is another strategy that you may not have considered. This is to repurpose your old hardware to support your new hardware in a creative way which actually makes life a Lot Easier for you, by way of boosting your productivity by repurposing your old hardware to serve as an external monitor. Furthermore, this would help in saving you some much-needed money when it comes to buying an external monitor.
This process allows you to connect to any device wirelessly provided both machines are connected to the same internet network. This also eliminates the need to buy expensive HDMI cables. The technology world is rapidly moving towards embracing a wireless future, which is very much in keeping with this approach.
This approach uses Windows Projection technology that’s included with Windows 10.
While there is no risk of damage to your hardware, we are not responsible for any damage to your hardware when you employ this technique and by attempting to do this, you agree to do so at your own risk.
With that legalese out of the way, here are the steps:
- On the device, you want to connect to (your old laptop or desktop) go into setting and type in ‘projection’ in the search field within settings.
- Or, Press the I key along with the Windows Key (key which has the windows box logo on it) to get to the Settings menu
- In projection setting, select Available everywhere, every time, never respectively in the 3 dropdowns on that page
- Note down the name of the device as listed on that page
- Make sure both machines are connected to the same internet network as well as same frequency i.e. both must be connected to 2.4Ghz or 5 Ghz. If you don’t see these options when you detect your wifi network then it’s possible your wifi has a single frequency similar to what Verizon Fios offers to its residential customers
- Now, go to the machine you want to project from – your new hardware – your new laptop or your new desktop & press Windows key & the P key at the same time and select Extend (if it isn’t already selected)
- Then click on ‘Connect to Wireless Display’ link at the bottom of the menu you see
- Your old device name will now be displayed in the list that shows up
- Click your old device name in the list
- Watch for a notification on your old hardware, click accept
- Congratulations! You have now successfully connected your devices.
- You can use this approach to connect to as many devices as you like
